Connect2Buy ("Connect2Buy," "we," "our," or "us") operates the website connect2buy.com — a reverse marketplace where buyers post what they want to purchase and sellers reach out to them directly.

We are not a data broker, advertising network, or analytics company. We built this platform to connect real people, and we take your privacy seriously. This policy tells you exactly what we collect, why we collect it, and who — if anyone — ever sees it.

We only collect what we need to run the platform:

Account information — your name and email address when you create a free account.

Listing content — the title, description, category, budget, location, and condition details you enter when posting a wanted request. This information is intentionally public so sellers can find you.

Login activity — timestamps of sign-ins and password reset requests, stored to protect your account security.

Visitor count — we maintain a single running total of site visits (no individual tracking, no cookies tied to this counter).

Communications — if you contact us via the contact form, we retain your message to respond to you.

We do NOT collect payment information. There is no paid tier and no checkout on Connect2Buy.

We use your information only to operate Connect2Buy:

• To create and manage your account. • To display your wanted listings to potential sellers. • To send you transactional emails — account verification, password resets, and seller alert notifications you explicitly opt into. • To notify you when a seller posts a listing in a category you are watching (Seller Alerts feature). • To respond to support requests you send us. • To maintain basic site security and prevent abuse.

We do not use your information for advertising. We do not build profiles on you. We do not sell, rent, trade, or license your personal information to any third party for their marketing purposes — ever.

Running a modern web platform requires a small number of trusted third-party services. Here is every one of them and what they touch:

GoDaddy (Hosting & Infrastructure) — Connect2Buy is hosted on GoDaddy's Airo platform. GoDaddy processes server requests and stores application data on our behalf. GoDaddy's privacy policy applies to their infrastructure: godaddy.com/legal/agreements/privacy-policy.

Airo Email Gateway (Transactional Email) — Verification emails, password reset links, and seller alert notifications are delivered through GoDaddy's Airo email relay. Your email address is passed to this service solely to deliver messages you requested. No marketing use.

PayPal (Voluntary Donations) — The "Support Connect2Buy" link in the footer goes to a personal PayPal.me page. Clicking it takes you to PayPal's website. We do not receive or store any payment data. PayPal's privacy policy governs that interaction: paypal.com/us/legalhub/privacy-full.

Schema.org / Structured Data — We embed JSON-LD structured data in listing pages to help search engines understand buyer requests. This data is derived entirely from the public listing content you posted. No personal contact information is included in structured data.

Facebook Open Graph — We include Open Graph meta tags so that when someone shares a Connect2Buy page on Facebook, a preview card appears. We do not run Facebook Pixel, Facebook ads, or any Facebook tracking on this site. The Facebook App ID in our meta tags is used only for link preview rendering.

No analytics platform (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Hotjar, etc.) is installed on Connect2Buy. We do not track individual user behavior, page views per user, or session recordings.

Connect2Buy uses minimal cookies:

Session authentication — a short-lived session cookie is used for admin access only. Regular member authentication uses browser localStorage, not cookies.

No advertising cookies. No tracking pixels. No third-party cookie scripts.

You can clear your browser's localStorage and cookies at any time without losing your account — just sign back in.

When you post a wanted listing on Connect2Buy, that listing is publicly visible to anyone on the internet — including search engines. This is intentional: the whole point is for sellers to find you.

Your listing includes the title, description, category, budget range, location (city/state or "Nationwide"), and condition preference you entered. It does not display your email address or any contact information publicly.

If you want to remove a listing, you can delete it from your profile page at any time. Deleted listings are soft-deleted and removed from public view immediately.

You are in control of your data:

Access — you can view all information associated with your account by visiting your profile page.

Deletion — you can delete individual listings from your profile. To delete your entire account and all associated data, contact us at the address below and we will process your request within 30 days.

Correction — if your name or email is incorrect, contact us and we will update it.

Opt-out of seller alerts — you can remove any or all seller alert subscriptions from the Alerts page at any time.

Data portability — if you want a copy of your data, contact us and we will provide it in a readable format.

We do not sell personal data, so there is no "opt out of sale" process needed.

We retain your account information and listings for as long as your account is active.

If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal information within 30 days. Listings you posted will be anonymized (poster name and email removed) rather than deleted, so the marketplace record remains intact.

Password reset tokens expire after 1 hour. Email verification tokens expire after 24 hours.

Connect2Buy is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us immediately and we will remove it.

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your information:

• Passwords are stored as salted hashes — we cannot read your password. • All traffic is served over HTTPS. • Database access is restricted to application-level credentials. • Password reset tokens are single-use and expire after 1 hour.

No system is perfectly secure. If you discover a security vulnerability, please contact us responsibly at the address below.

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. We may also notify registered members by email for significant changes.

Continued use of Connect2Buy after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
